Our Christmas gift tags

Today we are wrapping up our Christmas gift tags into beautiful bundles. My God, the things we do to keep our customers happy. Please Santa, give us an imp for Christmas (preferably male). We've tried to be good, very hard, well...most of the time.

No point denying

Although we're certainly not ready for cold weather there's no point in denying that it will come in a couple of weeks. So to help us getting used to the idea we've already designed two new Christmas cards. Hope you'll like them.

Valentine

Come on girls, don't just wait for him to send you a card. Make sure you give him the message that you are THE ONE, could be for now or maybe for longer. Sometimes it's us who want to be rescued, but they need a bit of love rescuing as well from time to time.

Freezing

It's freezing out here and everybody is so into the idea of ice skating. The thought itself makes me shiver and crawl even closer to the heater. But still, the idea of ice skating did get me to make this.

it's all about hormones

There is a big possibility that we as a family are expecting a new member soon. Already 7 months on the way. No worries, it has four legs. Driven by uncontrolable hormones we've done some pregnancy shopping around for the possible newcomer.

Shopping

Yesterday a visit to Seminyak, Bali. It was on our son's wishlist to go there (I love the fact that they get to the age they actually like shopping). It's unbelievable how things can change in such short time. It's been only two years ago since our last visit and although it always was the place to be for design it's been growing and developping with many many more excellent shops.

By nature we went to our known places first, like Jellyfish , it's a kids clothing shop with out of the ordinairy designs where our girl bought her first dress 5 years ago, she has quite a collection now of Jellyfish dresses. Here showing her latetst.

Next visit was the Corner Store (unfortunately no website), I always buy the bags made of ricebags made by Madcow, every year they have different designs.

Stop for a lunch at Made's Warung, I think the best place for a quite Indo atmosphere lunch or diner or simply a drink, serving Indo, Japanese and Western food. It's a place with a long history. They even made the place bigger now, but still maintained the old intimate style.

 Made's Warung now

I pick out two places that caught my attention and are new to me. First one is
La Bijouterie of Cooperative de creation. I like the way they make simple jewellery out of basic materials using letters and natural materials. Unfortunately on the website you can only see a tiny bit of their huge divers collection.

The last one is GV Amazing Crafts, they design wonderful furniture, I'm in love with their desk, couch and old style travel cabinet.

If only...

...they weren't soo expensive I would have them both! not facing each other but side by side in the same tree. And of course expanding the collection with a Hindoe temple, Budhist sacred tree etc.

Excellent design by Studio Frederik Roije, for sale at Fonq

Pray for Japan exposition

Maybe you remember the intitiative of Martine of Een Nieuw Avontuur  to collect work of the creative Dutch & Belgians for the exposition of the Japanese Publisher Paumes in Tokyo their Galerie Doux Dimanche for the victims of the tsunami in Japan.
Have a look at Omstebeurt for all the work that's been submitted or a glimpse of the exposition at Galerie Doux Dimanche, or a nice post on the blog of 101 Woonideeen about this initiative.

Welcome

On one of our trips through our city Amsterdam we found this amazing lunch room. Beter & Leuk is situated in the east of Amsterdam. Their motto is "Stop eating shit, eat good food". We like! Beside this, they also sell non food products with the vision that it should be good for animals and humans. Selling our postcards soon.

Happy games, fase III

I knew the time would come, that our 10 year old boy wouldn't accept the pink & white childrens playroom (mostly pink I have to admit) as their domain, but I have posponed it as long as I possibly could. The girl didn't mind, but hey all has to be decided in a democratic way, well almost.

As they wanted a Game Room, I suggested we have all sorts of vintage PacMan illustrations, but no, they wanted Mario. I refuse to have a guy with a moustache on any wall of the house, and as I'm the one painting it I should have a major vote in this. So we came up with this. Sorry can't remember where I got it from, internet, but where?

And now it's done, goodbye to Peter Pan Childhood Dreams, Hello Game World. The room has been transformed to a chill hang out place, all the pink has been removed. Bit sorry, but I also love it when their friends come over saying, wow this is cool!

So I'm done, made my deadline, fase I, II & III delivered before the first of March. But I'm also very very very tired, so tired that I can't be bothered to make some more pictures, sorry.

Twitter freebie

It's hard to find nice twitter freebies other than the usual, so feel free to use those two from us, the canary from the childrensfarm will be extremely proud.
Just copy the image with your right mouse and save it, and link it to your twitter address.

Hug ME

Sometimes you have a sweater you really really like, but can't wear anymore because there's a stain in it that won't come out, or a little hole somewhere. This sweater had both and I kept it for years (12 actually). A second life is the best option, but why leave the arms out? So we came up with the HUG ME cushion. Want to order one? shoot us an email. We're working on 'give me the ultimate pleasure cushion' hahaha.
