InSense makes sense

InSense is a magazine about the human senses and issued at every change of the European seasons. It's a colourful, nice to look & read magazine with all sorts of articles covering a wide range of topics without any gibberish.

You can imagine that we are honored that Liefgoed was chosen to be interviewed for the 'Summer' issue (as it suits us so well being the bright & radiant girls we are!).

Toffee & Advent Calender

I'm an absolute fan of online magazines. Why, well 1) environmental reason like less paper which also means for me 2) more space available in my house as I have a difficult time throwing magazines away. 3) Print only what you really want and simply read everything on your computer. I wish, wish, wish we would have them more over here.

I believe it was last month that a new Australian online magazine called Toffee came out. I meant to write about it, but simply forgot. Absolute adore this Advent Calender which you can print for yourselves as soon as you bought yourself a copy, believe it was 2.99 Australian dollars for the whole magazine at Toffee

Gifted!

This may come as a surprise to you all (think not), but we love to make stuff. Now what is the best time in the whole year to make stuff, right in the dark November, December times (at least here in Holland).

I can tell you, I used to, that was before the kids arrived. Not that my girl doesn't like crafting, she does! she makes so much in a day that we don't have room for it anymore, so now she enlightens the neighbors with her creations, some of them already have a wall full of them. Anyway, drifting..kids, crafting & December.

The problem of my December is the following: first we have this old chap called 'Sinterklaas', this man gives presents to children at his birthday. Our kids have about three Sinterklaas parties. Followed by birthday no. 1, our son. The next day, birthday no. 2, our daughter. I know, planning is everything. Than we have some work related Christmas dinners and finally Christmas itself.

So tell me, when in this horrible month do I have time to craft. I've decided to start early this year. And I'm so glad that Creature Comforts decided that the beginning of November is an excellent time to issue the Gifted Magazine to get me in the mood. More than 220 beautiful pages filled with ideas, make it yourselves (starting page 71), fashion, gifts & interviews. Eat your heart out! At the end of the blog you can scroll through the magazine.

Thank you!

Today we I had the privilege of giving a workshop palmistry together with my teacher & fellow student, arranged by Happinez.

It was such a joy, from the beginning to the end. First of all the location, all was arranged by De Kamers in Amersfoort. Now, you don't think of Amersfoort as first place you can find exceptional hospitality, but I must say from the warm welcome of the chamberlain Jos van Oord, the catering by Amanda (my God, YOU can cook!), the decoration, till lights & sounds done by Marco, everything was perfect.

And the students, what a nice bunch of people. So much enthusiasm & trust. It's been a pleasure to have met each one of you.

Happinez!

Probably told you before, but I'm finally finishing my palmistry study at the beginning of 2011. This coming Saturday there is a Workshop Palmistry arranged by the popular Dutch magazine Happinez, the third one in a row. And this one, I'm gonna do together with my wonderful teacher Ellen Duim & one of my top-notch fellow students Geri. Looking forward to it!

Now sometimes it's hard to see everything with the naked eye, so a magnifying-glass isn't a luxury. Thank you mom for getting me one. As Ellen suggested after reading the knitting story yesterday I should try to knit a cover for it. Such a nice suggestion Ellen, but NO! This, on the other hand, I can do.

Oh and something else, turns out that my scarf is a crochet one. Fortunately we do have knowledge of a lot other stuff.

Yummy..

Reading the last edition of Flow Magazine, I fell for this extremely yummy dessert & cake calender, published by Snor filled with recipes of family, friends & acquaintances of the writers. Sorry to say it's in Dutch. If there's one on this page you really like, send us an email and we'll try to translate it for you.

the love for Paris...

...London or New York! Twice a year, a special home decoration edition for kids by Ariadne comes out. Full of 'make it yourself stuff'. My absolute favorite of last edition is this huge print of the hand paper cut creation of Famille Summerbelle which has been magnified for wallpaper.

They have some nice Chinese - orientated decoration ideas as well, sorry to say it's in dutch.
